Leander Klohs

Leander Klohs is the Executive Manager of The Strata Professionals Australia. She brings 20 years of executive management, governance, and digital transformation experience gained at the highest levels of local government, together with board-level oversight of community and sporting organisations.

Leander spent 18 years at the City of Sydney, including 15 years as Executive Manager to the CEO. In that role she served as the primary liaison between elected representatives and the administrative arm of the organisation, coordinating governance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement across a complex political environment. Leander led the transition to online council and committee meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic, implemented an organisation-wide committee report system that reduced paper use by 75 per cent, and oversaw the rollout of a business electoral framework under sensitive NSW Government legislation. Before joining the executive office, she managed the City’s community services division, overseeing children’s, youth, aged, and recreation programs with a budget of approximately $5 million during the amalgamation of the City of Sydney and South Sydney City Council.

Leander holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Newcastle and has completed the AICD Company Directors’ Course. She has served as a director of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and is a current director of SOLAS Trusts, bringing six years of combined board experience in governance, strategy, and fiduciary responsibility.

This combination of executive-level governance, project delivery, and digital transformation gives Leander a perspective directly relevant to the operational demands of professional strata management. Her experience coordinating elected representatives, managing compliance obligations, and delivering accountability through structured systems aligns closely with the governance standards The Strata Professionals Australia applies to every scheme it manages.
